Spoken Language

Dialect: Words that are used in different parts of the country. Example: Liverpool - "Sound" -Good, okay" Newcastle - "Mint"

Elision: When your accent changes frequently..

Adjacency pairs: Something to start a conversation off and then in reply to be a well mannered answer

Fillers: "Er" "Um". Used a lot in the George W Bush interview as it was very un-rehearsed.

Fluency: How well you can speak without having to think about things and to really know what you're talking about.
